Lifecard Pistols
« on: June 04, 2022, 01:27:28 PM »
Have we talked about these before? A sportsman's Warehouse ad showed up in my inbox advertising these. I'm not sure I see the utility, but what do I know?

Zip guns:

Ingenuity will out.

You will note that up to the present moment, 12:07:24 PM MDT  Saturday, 04 June 2022 CE, it is not federally illegal to design and build one's own firearms from scratch.

I understand, subject to correction, this was intended to encourage firearms developments from ordinary citizens, as opposed to governmental or private industry sources.

This, like the Amateur Radio Service, recognizes the contributions to technology and engineering that are possible from the ordinary unprofessional citizen.

On the other hand, you can spend US$200+ for a single shot handgun.  (Which at least has a rifled barrel.)

Respectfully submitted, with amusement,

The lifecard looks useless for self defense, but like a neat gun for a collection!

I'd like to meet the wholesale sales rep who sold them to Sportsman's Warehouse.  I've got a bridge in Brooklyn he can market for me.

I'd also like to meet the Sportsman's Warehouse buyer.  He might be interested in my bridge.

Only 140 years old.  Make offer.

Makes the NAA mini look practical.

pre 2018 I'd have picked a used one up if encountered at the gunshow for the right price,  I like curiosity pieces.

I put them FIRMLY in the Thunder 5/Judge/pen gun category... weird and next to useless.

My Taurus PT-22 is virtually invisible in my pocket, as well...

And it has 8 shots.

I actually owned an NAA .22 Short single shot derringer for a short period of time.

A buddy and I were playing pool, and doing rather well at it one evening. One fellow kept going double or nothing... After the last one, he pulls the thing out of his pocket, everyone in the bar hits the floor, and he sheepishly asked "Would this be good for it?" Whew.

Sure thing it was. I took possession, and after a bit of consideration, it went into a storm sewer...

I CHANGED MY MIND !

After seeing the video linked above at

https://youtu.be/xPf3CFs71bA

After seeing it in operation, I think it's a nifty "If that's all you got, then that's all you got" little handgun.

The unfolded pictures in the posts above do not do it justice.

On sale for $249.99? That's just nuts. (Or it's priced for people who are nuts.)

Move the decimal point one place to the left and I might be interested for the novelty value alone . . . if it were available as an 80% kit.

(Build a bunch, wait for the next $100 per gun buyback - PROFIT!)
