Texas 'licensed-to-carry' bystander shot El Paso mall shooter as he targeted more would-be victims

Quote
The suspect, a 16-year-old Hispanic male, is accused of shooting the individuals after a "confrontation ensued" between two groups at Cielo Vista Mall on Wednesday evening at 5:05 p.m.

The El Paso Police Department said the confrontation eventually escalated into a "physical fight," and the 16-year-old pulled out a handgun, fatally shooting Angeles Zaragoza, 17, and injuring another 17-year-old and 15-year-old.

Police say that Emanuel Duran, 32, who is a licensed-to-carry holder, shot the suspect as he was pointing his gun toward the direction of more bystanders.

Looks like it wasn't a planned mass shooting, but a kid pulled a gun after a confrontation started then made the mistake of pointing the gun at others and was shot by a concealed carry holder.  The facts may change.

How else can they fit it to their narrative?

Just leaving room for facts to change which has happened in shootings before.   =D

It is nice to hear that someone who was carrying was able to put down the murderer.  Even if the kid had shot no one else, odds are his trial would end up delayed and he wouldn't be punished very much for what he did.

Yeah.  Just look at that fiasco in St. Louis where that 17 y.o. girl lost both of her legs.
Perp was on "house arrest" for an armed robbery in 2020.  They tried to start the trial 7/22 but the City Prosecutor (Kim Gardiner's office) stated "they weren't ready".  Perp had NO D.L., had violated his GPS "house arrest" 51 times (10 in the last month alone), failed to yield, hit one car, turned turtle, and that second car was the one that hit the girl.  One leg was "torn off" when she got pinned between car #2 and a third car and her father, who had some medical training, used a belt as a tourniquet to keep his daughter from bleeding to death.
Gardiner claims that her office petitioned a judge to revoke the perp's bail but there is no paper record of it in the court documents.
