That looks pretty cool.  Animation is a good way to rebuild the old story without having to reinvent the whole thing with new actors.

I think we've finally hit the threshold where a lot of adults would rather have animation, than live action with BBC-tier special effects.  We've had about 2 generations that really appreciate anime, and have embraced things like the various Don Bluth masterpieces of the 80's and 90's, Heavy Metal, the Tolkien animated efforts of the 70's, The Nightmare Before Christmas, A Scanner Darkly...  It's just a great medium that shouldn't be relegated to children alone.

Three of the longest running scripted entertainment shows in TV history are animated:  The Simpsons, Family Guy, and South Park.  All are definitely adult oriented.

The Simpsons and South Park are both created and made by independent studios and sold to the TV networks right?  That gives them a little more ability to ignore the Hollywood political crap.  Often they are not people that are recognized in public (except for the South Park creators).  I wonder how much difference that makes.

I've not been a big "live to animation" fan, but as a B5 fan, will definitely check this out. My only hope is that JMS doesn't go woke. He's a big lib, but for the most part, kept "the message" out of B5. I hope the new B5 doesn't go the Family Guy TDS route.

Didn't like Babylon 5 when it was live, I sincerely doubt if I'll like it now.

I'd watch a B5 animated series IF the storyline is good - but if some network people meddle (the way they did with TV shows based on Tolkien's LOTR and Jordan's Wheel of Time) I'll be disappointed.

Having grown up reading classic SF, I'd like to see a show - live action or animated - based on E.E.Smith's Skylark or Lensman series novels. (A Lensman anime movie came out of Japan some years back, but that horrible abomination should never have been made, let alone released.)

Animation seems a little clunky.

The "We lost the Shadow War?" timeline was forshadowed* in season one of B5:TRT (Babylon 5: The Real Thing).  Someone has a dream or vision of B5 under attack, the control room burning, and Garibaldi going into last stand mode.  ("This is what I was born for!")

He's an atheist yet openly showed great respect for religions of all kind in the show. Hopefully that will continue.

That's what I was thinking. Looks a bit like a 1970s cartoon.
