TL;DR: gun rights group in MI is fighting to get names and other info on those who participated in gun "buybacks" in eight counties.  Democrats cry foul.

Interesting approach.  Not sure I buy the stated reason that they're trying to prevent rare/expensive firearms from being destroyed.
