We were only there a couple of days, which isn't enough time to do much. Should have taken at least one more day.
On the way down, I discovered there is a Buc-ees in Springfield. Never been to one before. It turned out to be one of the best parts of the trip, since we got to meet 2 lab puppies out at the parking lot. And gas < $3. (There's also a Whataburger in Springfield. It's a regular Lone Star State of mind down there.)
We opted to skip Silver Dollar City in favor of Queen Esther. Some friends recommended it very highly, and they were not wrong. The stuff they were doing with the sets was really impressive, and of course it's a good story.
I was looking around for about ten minutes in a resale shop when I found this guy:
I've always thought these were really cool. I paid about $15 for this one. The tip of the blade is broken off, but someone did a pretty good job of re-shaping it. All the other tools are in good shape. No nail file, so I guess it's one of the older ones.
