This is the 3rd time going on a keto diet. I've had excellent luck with this type of diet in the past. I'm not obese by any means, but I could stand to lose 20 - 25lbs (or so my knees are starting to tell me).
In the past, I've lost that much weight in about 2-3 months with no problems. I sleep better and notice superior concentration, memory retention and recollection. Other than craving carb-rich foods (I'm a sucker for Chinese and Italian), this diet seems to be the right one for me.
This time, I'm using keto urine strips to ensure I stay in ketosis while I experiment with certain foods that are supposedly keto-friendly (especially those tasty foods that claim to be low carb due to being high fiber and using sugar alcohols).
I'm 5 days into the diet and I noticed the strips are reading between 40 and 80 mg/dl. This morning it's solidly in the 80 mg/dl category.
I'm guessing I was the same the last couple times on the diet, but from what I'm seeing online, this is kind of high.
If it means anything, I'm in my mid-40's, NOT diabetic, and in good shape with no medical conditions other than being 20lbs overweight. As of now, I feel absolutely fine... just curious about those numbers.
