Probably the latest summer Covid
« on: August 02, 2024, 06:14:04 PM »
Tuesday morning had a sniffle, afternoon had a significant headache. I never get headaches.
Wednesday still had headache and my eyes hurt, burned. Went to swim my usual laps and was fatigued. I quit at about 2/3 my usual just fagged out. Went to bed early.
Thursday (yesterday) I got hot and couldn’t stop sweating buckets. Never any chills or fever that I know of. Coughing more often just an irritating dry cough. And gut complaints.
This morning, woke with a sore throat and short of breath. Tight like I had ratchet straps around my chest. Cough started breaking up and now just sore throat and headache again. Fatigue when tried to swim again today. Gave up after 15 minutes and went to the hot tub.
I haven’t got time for this.

I came down with covid a week ago (Friday morning).  I'm almost over it; finally getting my strength back today.  I never did get a fever, just mild cold symptoms, and a slight headache only on the second day of it.  At first I thought it was allergies.  But probably Sunday or Monday, I lost my sense of smell, and also started getting hot flashes.  WTF with the hot flashes? That has been the worst part and they haven't totally gone away yet, but they are getting less severe and less frequent.

My 2 year old has it, been fun with the not sleeping.  She is coming around on eating which is good. Think I had it last week maybe.  Thought it was a little sinus trouble.

About midnight started with fever and chills, that broke and then I couldn’t stop sweating again. Showered at 3am and again at 6am. Deep wet coughing but I’m breathing easier. Saturday morning with a day full of plans and I’m going back to bed.
The headache is better and my eyes don’t feel like hot charcoal.
The last I had the Covid it was 3 days of sniffles. This is worse. I think this is round 4 for me.

I'm curious to hear other's symptoms of the latest variant.

Day 7?
I feel like crap. Which is to say a significant improvement.

I have been incredibly fatigued at times but not able to stop everything. I feel fine and almost normal for periods of time then might go 180 without warning.

I did 3 hours of outside work 2 days ago and was declared officially shot out of the saddle by 10:30 (by my wife the retired RN). When I quit I was sweating buckets, ie soaking my clothes and my leather work boots from the inside out sweating. It was all I could do to undress myself in the garage. I showered, slept in the chair, drank water when I woke up and showered again before going to bed at 5:30pm

Worked yesterday a light day. Napped instead of swimming at noon, came home and went to bed at 7:30pm. Slept great!

Today I worked 5 hours feeling OK, came home and carried 2 gas cans to the barn and a cardbox box to the burn barrel (300' total?) and I feel like I'm in a sauna (actual 73 degrees with a breezy drizzle) and I'm sweating buckets again.

I'm skipping swimming laps again tomorrow. I might swim one lap before someone would have to help me out of the pool. (Hopefully that cute little lifeguard. The one that is 50 years younger than me but still might save me out of a sense of duty, or because I remind her of her grandpa.)

I wish I would have gone for the test and the drug early but I thought I could beat it. This is almost like the original go I had in January 2020.

Can confirm, have covid now. 0/5 would not recommend.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

It's been about 10 days for me.  I tested negative a few days ago (I don't know why my wife even wanted me to take the test)  I feel fine most of the time now but haven't totally got my strength back.  Sense of smell is almost back (last time, that took about a month)  But I go outside and do any kind of work and I start sweating profusely (even tho' it's not hot) and have to come in for a while to cool off and rest.  I also start sweating right after I eat, but that's not as severe.

I have a wet cough in the mornings, and it doesn't respond well to OTC cough syrup, but I figured out Benadryl plus Sudafed knocks it right out, so that part might be allergies from all mold spores in the air instead of covid related.  But normal cold usually leave me with a lingering cough so who knows.

As far as I know, I have never had COVID.

Given how prevalent it is, though, I'd not be surprised were I to find that I've had it.

And given the sinus issues that I have generally, it would likely be difficult for me to identify if I had it.

Basically, given the symptoms list for the Kung Flu, I've had it for the past 55 years.

Prior to the vaccine craziness, they were more up front that something like 80% of the population would have no symptoms or mild symptoms.
