Microsoft has struck again.
I have Office pro 2019, which includes the desktop version of Outlook, and I use that for a couple of e-mail accounts. But I also regularly use the Windows calendar app, because it syncs with the Outlook calendar and I can keep the Windows Calendar open while I'm working in Outlook. I've been doing that for years.
I awoke yesterday to find that Microsoft had installed a new update overnight. Then I discovered that when I attempt to open the Windows Calendar app (which I use regularly), it redirects to the new, on-line Outlook. Within the new Outlook, if I open the Help menu there's an option to go back to Classic Outlook. Clicking that then open the desktop Outlook from MS Office 2019 -- which opens normally anyway. Once I make that change, I can then open Windows Calendar again.
BUT ... one time only. If I close Windows Calendar and try to start it again, it again redirects to the new Outlook.
I've been searching the Internet in hopes of finding a hack or registry edit to permanently ban this idiocy, but no luck so far. I've even tried uninstalling the latest feature update, thinking that it was the update that brought about this change, but that didn't fix it. I may try a recent restore point.
Not happy.
