I wasn't paying any attention to this... but it's big...
« on: November 06, 2024, 10:50:04 AM »
So, 8 years ago when Trump interrupted the coronation of Her Hillaryness the Glorious First, lots, and I mean LOTS of people screeched that Trump was an illegitimate president because he hadn't won the popular vote and NO ONE SHOULD BE PRESIDENT IF THEY CAN'T WIN THE POPULAR VOTE WE NEED TO SCRAP THE ELECTORAL COLLEGE SPASMS OF LIBERAL RAGE!

Obviously the undertone from the left was that no conservative would ever again be able to win the popular vote because America is now a bastion of progressiveness with small pockets of MAGA Hitlerites...

Well, look at what's going on right now...

Trump's popular vote tally currently sits at 71,527,867

Harris' popular vote tally? 66,671,671

But, that just can't be right, can it?

Wow... Stay classy, MSNBC!

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YUsuItpdOf4

I remember back when everyone said that all the rich, white country club Republicans were the racist ones that wouldn't let the "coloreds" in. Watching MSNBC snippets this morning, they, and often their POC commentators are putting the pedal to the metal with the "Those damn Mexicans and blacks" talk. The parties (or at least the perception of what each party represents) certainly has flip-flopped. The Rs are now the big tent party and the Ds are the monoculture party.

It's stunning just exactly how racist the left truly is.

They claim to be down with the cause, but their very actions show just what hypocrites they are.

Darn near 100% of what the left says about the right is projection

I'm going to be interested in seeing if there is any self-reflection regarding their love of Hollywood celebrities. I guess they have sometimes helped them in the past, but it seems like this time, Oprah, for instance, had an opposite effect.

I'm really curious about the George Clooney situation. The guy had a direct line to the WH, and many say that he's one of the most directly responsible people for first propping Biden up regarding the dementia, then also telling him he had to go. He's possibly directly one of those responsible for Harris being the D's only option at that point.

Lets not even get into the "fail" celebrities, like CardiB.

They waited too long to the point they had no real choice but to go with Harris once the MSM couldn't cover up Biden's issues anymore plus they had dug too deep a hole proclaiming they were the champions of women and blacks

There was a pollster or poll analyst on Fox the other night who was making that point. Said that pollsters are heavily oversampling those who tend to agree with Dems, and that's skewing things heavily.

She made comment that Conservatives have, by and large, opted out of polling processes because they see it as being flawed and inherently biased against their political positions.

I'd have to say, given the results vs polling in 2016 and 2024, she might be very, very correct.

Conservative also tend not to flaunt their political views no where near as much as libs do.

She may have mentioned that, as well. Unfortunately I was only paying partial attention to it because Seren was demanding my attention and I missed a good chunk of the interview's context.

. . . She made comment that Conservatives have, by and large, opted out of polling processes because they see it as being flawed and inherently biased against their political positions . . .

I received several phone calls on my landline purporting to be political pollsters - if it's a robocall I just hang up, if there's a live person on the line I just say "I don't take telephone polls" and hang up.
Trump won in 2016. And again in 2024. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I'm actually a little worried that the popular vote could flip based on the fact that California still is only about 55% reported.

According to Decision Desk, they've been sitting at 60% for three days now. Are they having some kind of safe space time off because the mean man won? What a train wreck of a state.

They're waiting for the high speed train to come by and pick up the votes so that they can be formally tallied in Sacremento.

The updated Decision Desk says CA now has 63% of their vote counted, and Harris has narrowed the popular vote difference from ~5 million to ~4 million. They have counted 10 million votes there so far. If it stays at the current 60/40 ratio, Trump should still come out ahead, but I'll be pissed if CA "finds" enough votes for Harris to surpass Trump a freakin' week after the election. If they're even done counting by then.

I'm certain most of the votes being counted now are mail in ballots still coming in, which are probably blue if they're late. CA says they have to be postmarked by election day, but they are accepting them up until 12NOV.

Just for the precident I'd like to see CA and NV sued for counting votes that arrived after the election.

The 9th circuit will say "count everything no matter what" which will set up a circuit split with the 5th, and we could get a partial answer on "election month" fr9m the SCOTUS.

ETA possibly AZ too. If lake loses again to sus ballots, she'll definitely sue.

"Election month"? Why not go all in and make it election year?

In fact, why don't we start voting on Trump's successor right now?
