Reportedly there was an IED in the truck that didn't go off and he had rented an all electric one. Think maybe he had intended to ignite the batteries like what may have happened or was attempted at the Trump Tower today which was also an all electric vehicle?

Surveillance video shows multiple people 'placing explosive device': report

The Associated Press says it has obtained an intelligence bulletin from Louisiana state police that says several “potential explosive devices” were found in New Orleans’s’ French Quarter following the vehicle attack early Wednesday, and that surveillance footage had “captured three men and a woman placing one of multiple improvised explosive devices”.

There was no immediate confirmation from the state police department.

According to the bulletin, the AP says, guns and pipe bombs found in the suspect’s pick-up truck were found concealed within coolers and “wired for remote detonation”. A corresponding remote control was also discovered, it said.

UPDATE: Elon Musk confirms that the explosion at Trump Hotel in Las Vegas was caused by fireworks or a bomb placed in the bed of the rented Cybertruck. Tesla states the incident is unrelated to the vehicle itself, as all telemetry was normal at the time of the explosion.

Huge bang heard near scene as cops race away from Bourbon Street

Footage has emerged on social media showing multiple police vehicles speeding away from the scene of the incident after a loud bang was heard.

WSB reporter Zach Klein shared video of the three cars driving from Bourbon Street to his X account, saying they headed in the direction of a loud bang.

It remains unclear what the noise was, and if it was related to reports of IEDs left at the scene.

Another video shared by Klein shows two vehicles returning to the scene shortly after.
