Why TF did Leticia James and Alvin Bragg have security clearances?

https://twitchy.com/warren-squire/2025/02/08/trump-revoked-security-clearances-letitia-james-alvin-bragg-blinken-n2408052

I wondered the same thing. Best guess -- so they could try to use classified documents in their persecution of Donald Trump.

I guess that was easier for them to swallow than changing Denali, which is still Denali, which, I like Gulf of America and I like Mount Denali.

I'm curious what software protocols the DOGE team is using to clean up DEI on the fed.gov websites. Out of curiosity, I did a googles on my old agency with keywords of DEI and pride. While a lot of stuff came up as 404 or "page does not exist", a lot of links, especially on pride stuff, were still active.

I have to wonder how good their software is if it misses stuff that shows up on the first page of a google search. Maybe they're not done, but I did this same search within hours of hearing of DOGE walking into the HQ building last week, and the stuff that's not accessible now was not accessible then, so the software must work near real time. There seem to be some glaring holes though.

Someone in the comments said Apple Maps shows GOA now. I have no way of confirming

Oh, please *expletive deleted*ing do.  Boycott Google maps, and Apple Maps.  What are you stunted little kids going to do?  Learn to read a map and compass?  Write down turn by turn directions before you leave?  You going to learn lat and long, or MGRS?  Please, oh please, show all us old folks how you don't need your cell phone to hold your hand for basic aspects of life.

Someone should suggest they could buy paper maps that were printed before the change.  See if they know how to fold one.

Imperator Trump

Quote
Donald Trump signed an executive order on Tuesday that could make him the most powerful president in history by using an obscure Constitutional theory to enact his vision of authority.

The new order seeks to 'rein in independent agencies' by seizing various departments that normally act in accordance with Congress, bringing them under control of the executive branch in the White House.

The order reiterates that 'all executive power is vested in the President', and he and attorney general will interpret the law, leaving Trump free from Congressional and judicial oversight.

All agencies will have to submit regulations to the White House for review and the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) will ensure 'tax dollars are spent wisely'...

Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

I'm not giving the Daily Mail a click, but I wonder what agencies they think are "independent agencies" that weren't already under the executive branch.  For that matter, I'm interested in how they think an Executive Order applies to an agency that [theoretically] wasn't already under the executive branch.

Amazingly, every EO Trump rolls out reveal's/attacks some part of the big club that has seemingly been untouchable, regardless of elections.

I approve of Trumps choice of enemies AND his actual engagement playing offense.

I like the idea of the White House signing off on all new regulations.  Personally, I think all new regulations should have to go back to Congress for a vote and then a signature by the President.

The only limitations on control of the agency by the President should be clearly stated in the law establishing the agency.

So I was curious and looked up "Independent Regulatory Agencies" as reference in the Executive Order.

They are:
Quote from:  44 USC 3502
the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Federal Communications Commission, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, the Federal Housing Finance Agency, the Federal Maritime Commission, the Federal Trade Commission, the Interstate Commerce Commission, the Mine Enforcement Safety and Health Review Commission, the National Labor Relations Board, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission, the Postal Regulatory Commission, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Bureau of Consumer Financial Protection, the Office of Financial Research, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and any other similar agency designated by statute as a Federal independent regulatory agency or commission;

I was not willing to track all those authorizing bills down, so I looked at one, the Federal Maritime Commission, tracked it back to it's authorizing document (Presidential Order, Reorganization Plan number 7, 1961 as reference in 46 CFR 501.2(b) ) where it makes it clear that the Commission is an Executive agency and the "Independent " in the name is from other Agencies not independent of the Executive.   This despite the hyperventilating of news agencies.

I can only assume the others are similar, and fall under the preview of the Executive,  and he's perfectly within his expressed powers to check their homework.

So in other words, the Media lied.

Apparently the narrative being pushed that the reason Trump wants to reform and/or turn private the USPS is so that he can control mail in balloting.
