Put a cat-sized door in the door to the room where the cat box is located.

And keep the door closed so the dog can't get in.

Dogs love kitty crunchies

Buy an automatic cat box..  poop gets raked into a tub, dog can't eat it.

There's also the option of getting to it before the dog gets to it. You won't mind his breath so much that way...

Yeah, it's a little rough for a day or two but you eventually get used to the taste.

Yeah, but if Riley eats it before the dog does, his breath ain't gonna be so fresh, either.  undecided

Dogs eat cat poop mainly because it's very high in fat.

I'm not sure that you want to hear my simple solution as it involves dead cats.

Oooh!  Oooh!  Oooh!  Oooh!  Idea!

Bag 'em up and keep them for training snacky treats.  They're free and will probably work better than the five-buck-a-bag Schnorkies or whatever else you buy at the pet store.

The automated litterboxes are the best solution if you're not home. The kitty leavings are swept into a sealed box ten minutes after use.

. . . or duct tape on one of the animals.  smiley

Dogs are known to even  eat their own poop.
Here is the solution, don't laugh :
Feed them extremly smelly cheese.
That'll cure them !
(Doesn't have to be French cheese)

Easy.  Get rid of the dog.  Why would you want to live with an animal that eats fecal matter?

The cat sized door that the dog can't get through is 'prolly the best option if you simply MUST keep the scatavorous canine.  Or elevate the cat boxes so the cats can get into them, but the dog can't.

Just think of how much you are saving on dog food Wink

Oh, if you think this is bad - well, a long time ago we used to have what might be termed "primitive facilities" at our summer logging camp.  Oh, and then we had a litter of husky-wolf puppies.  Guess what the puppies all just loved to get into and eat...?  ("ooh, yummy - this tastes just like ****")  rolleyes

The upside is that I didn't have to dig a new hole all that summer  grin

Besides keeping the dog away from the cat's litterbox, there may be another option.

I've read that dogs like cat scat(and occasionally their own) because it's still high in protein and stuff, thus can get more nutrition from it via a second pass through the digestive tract.

So, one way to prevent them from wanting the stuff would be to switch them over to a higher protein dog food.

Can't guarentee that it'll work at this point, of course.

brimic, its from Weatherlight which was released in late 1996 or early 1997.

Do you play?  I've been trying to get my group to accept Unglued/Unhinged into play.  I want to slip in the fake card "Third Panzer Army" that was posted up on THR years ago.

On dogs eating cat scat, you could try the Innova Evo diets for dogs.  I feed mine Evo feline dry and they are thriving on it.  They don't like the canned since they are carb/kibble addicts, so they get Wellness grain-free canned.

I haven't played in about 6 years- mainly because I moved away from the city where I had 6 or 7 people I played with regularly.

Where I live my dogs chase off critters like coyotes (also bears, bobcats, etc). Cats are yummy, crunchy coyote snacks.
