Thanks to all. I now have cash in pocket, and after work I'm stopping by to have a look at several knives. On my list is a KaBar, Cold Steel, and SOG. I'll also keep an eye open for anything else in the case that might catch my eye.
You all have posted some photos of beautiful custom work, but for what I have in mind for the knife, I'd never subject one of those beauties to.
