Why am I a glutton for punishment?

I find myself going to dailykos and DU lately and reading up on the gun control topics lately. I guess there's value to knowing what the other side is thinking, but everytime I leave the sites feeling upset and angry. I see so many misguided arguments and ideas. If I see one more person saying that an AWB would get rid of "military full auto weapons" I'm going to scream. It is nice to see some pro gun folks arguing, but still, theres a lot of opposition.

Just thought I would share my frustration with you all. 

So do you guys tend to visit those sites or steer clear?

I put myself on the mailing lists for various anti-gun groups so I can see what they're saying.

But I can't justify the time required to read posts on DU. Besides, if I want to hear the opinions of flaming liberals, I just talk to some people at work.

Frankly, I think hatred is hatred is hatred. If you've spent an hour or two listening to it, you've both heard all of it and heard all the variations upon its theme you're likely ever to hear.
