Where to take a clarinet for servicing/repairs?
« on: October 30, 2007, 10:12:32 AM »
I know this is a long shot, but would any of you guys here have any suggestions on where in the Milwaukee area to take a professional quality clarinet for general servicing? My instrument needs some long overdue TLC, and I don't want to take it to the hacks at a big-box music retailer like Interstate Music or White House of Music. (I've had some poor experiences in the past with instrument servicing at Interstate Music.)

Right now the only smaller repair shop I can think of around Milwaukee is Melk's Music, so I was just wondering if anyone knew of anywhere else one could take an instrument.

DUDE???!!???

Are you serious?

You're at a major university.

As at the music department's offices where they get their stuff serviced.

No music department at Marquette. Although, I suppose the band does have to get their low brass and barry saxes worked on once in a while, so asking the director where they have it done might be a good idea.

My Buffet came from Nappe Music House in Evanston.  That was many years ago--I have no idea if they're still there.
