In another post, one of the long-time members of this forum commented on an ascerbic remark I made with only my sixth post on this forum.
Well, OK. That's true. I don't post much, largely because I believe that when you are talking you aren't learning anything. However, I have been lurking for a long time before finally joining this forum. I did the same with THR, although joined there much sooner.
This post constitutes something of a "hello" to all of you and an expression of appreciation for the enjoyment I have had from reading many of the discussion on this forum, some surprisingly well thought out. There is almost none of the nonsense that precluded me from more than a cursory examination of the AR-15 forum(s), for example. Coming from me, that constitutes high praise.
I'm a bit long in the tooth, now, but still quite active and fully enjoying retirement. (I highly recommend it!) I left the Army in the mid-1960's as a captain but remained with the Dept of Defense as an electronics engineer for the rest of my career. I now get to indulge myself with so many of my interests that I cannot figure out how I ever had time to go to work when I was other than gainfully unemployed.
I have been told that I have a somewhat warped sense of humor, so will probably fit in well with most of you from what I have seen so far. That still doesn't mean that I plan to post very much. Benjamin Franklin said, among many other wise quips, "It is far better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than open it and remove all doubt!" Now that's food for thought!
In any event, "Hello!" and if I am foolish enough to make some more posts, please be gentle with me.
