The Olympics, loud explosions and serendipity
« on: July 07, 2005, 12:46:38 AM »
Weird way to start the day, I go to bed happy in the knowledge that lots of my money was going to be pissed down the drain for the sake of sports that I detest thatks to Chirac being rude (an arrogant S.O.B who happens to be french, what an unusual combination). This morning I wake up to multiple explosions on the london tube network, cause unknown.  If that had been yesterday then no olympics for us.

I would get you a link but all the news sites, bbc etc, are just timing out on me due to traffic.

Whoops just got skynews loaded and a bus has gone up as well. Off to ring my sister and check she's ok, you'd like her guys, owns a 74 camaro with a small block 350 in it and loves sharp pointy things and stuff that goes boom. Masters in space sciences too. If her hubby wasn't such a cool guy I'd auction her on the internet Smiley.

The explosions are the French getting back for losing out on the Olympics.
Oh, Lord, please let me be as sanctimonious and self-righteous as those around me, so that I may fit in.

Couldn't have anything to do with the G8, could it?

Glad you're OK. Any more news?

FWIW folks, if you can't get in touch with loved ones in London, you might try text messaging from a cellphone.  A radio show caller this morning mentioned that she couldn't call her friends there, but could send them a text message from her cellphone to theirs.  Worth a try if you can't complete a voice call...

Yeah, mobile networks were apparently rammed this morning. Can't handle the volume of a New Year's Eve or a terrorist atrocity.

If it's got anything to do with the G8, and I'd reckon it has, it's not likely to be the guys causing the riots the other day.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also

Cui bono?

Blair's popularity sagging.

Controversial new ID law being proposed.

Gee, the bastards bombed the closest major city to the G8.  And the site of the 2012 Olympics.  What a surprise.
