From "Purgatory", a made-for-TV movie. Sam Shepard did a great Wild Bill Hickok, and Randy Quaid was a perfect Doc Holliday.
If you've not seen this one, I recommend it. It was like a Western with a good bit of the Twilight Zone. A town called Refuge, in the middle of nowhere, where the old legends were trying to lead other lives...long after they were dead.
Two really well-choreographed gunfights, and this scene, which was just really well done, I thought. If you read stories of the old legends, the outlaws and all, might give you goosebumps. The moment someone straps on their gunbelt with the guns reversed butt-forward and steps out into the street... you
know who that is. And a newcomer standing amid the line of the legends, looking left and right, about to fight alongside them...I think that'd affect anyone who watched Westerns.
