I'm missing this one.
http://www.ohiopenshow.com/index.htmlApparently, it is one of the best in the country. It's also about five hours away, and I can't afford to buy anything anyway. Well, except some paper which I need to buy anyway, and some ink, which is both fun and cheap.
There's a pen show in metro Detroit every September, but it's pretty tiny and mostly local. The gun show comparison is not too far off. Less political, to be sure, but the best parts of gun shows are people who appreciate fine tools and the stuff that go with them. Pen shows tend to have a variety of obsessive personalities, from penmanship freaks to pen-turners and pen-tuners, and then there's people like me who are all about the paper and the ink. Fun times.
This will be a sad weekend. Maybe next year.
