Veloce - superb pic - real winner.  Beautiful atmosphere - one so often more likely found at sunrise than sunset.  Kudos! Smiley

I have little to offer that is in the least artistic - just a couple of very similar record pics from today.  We had a superb bike run - 330 bikes was the count and our stop point was in case anyone has heard of it - ''The Road Kill Cafe'' - Artemas PA ... south west PA, just a bit above the Mason-Dixonline.  Not a large place but by time we had all arrived it was well congested!!

The pics only show a central portion - there were bikes all over!!  HOT was the word - I mean steamy hot, so much humidity.  Great run tho - thru some very pretty roads, and a pig roast to follow.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Just seen the pyro pics Veloce - wow - a few bucks there goin' up in smoke! Cheesy
RileyMC,
I would really like a larger version of that last coastline pic you posted if it would be possible.  The larger the better.  If you could post a link or just email it to me at bporter@runbox.com (as long as it's under 20MB it's fine as an attachment).
If you can't that's fine too.
Summer moon - seems about full tonight - tried another attempt, as sky so clear.  Managed a shade more magnification and, tho a bit yellow in color - converted to grayscale.  Seems more ''normal'' that way.  Probably best I can achieve without super long optics.
That is one real nice long range set-up.  Makes me think back to Bisley Ranges, UK.
Just one extra pic for now - could not get this fella in direct sun so lighting a bit flat sadly.  Nonetheless, a magnificent speciment IMO - these things are large enough they appear to fly more like a bird than butterfly.  This is Echinacia flowers.
Took a pic last summer of one of these guys but noticed this fella round the pond earlier today - took a slew of pics and this one came out quite nicely, despite wind movement and him moving!!  Odd thing - he kept coming back to perch on these dead lily flower stems. Smiley
That looks like a Cicadia to me.  Never been bit by one.
Ray - that front on view has to be a std Cicada - the regular annual one.  I have tho seen what appear to be super large horse flies too - no pic to show unfortunately.
Ahh , nice to know what it is anyway ,  thought it was similar to a cicada , but I was thinking of the red eye demons of the 17 year variety. Dog really wants to mess with it .
Hey Chris ! , what week are we on for shooting ? is it .22 this week or PPC ?
Ray - well, I have missed several Wednesdays - it is getting harder to manage for several reasons right now.
I called Bill to confirm that tomorrow is PPC - and hope to go over.  That'll be hopefully on the bike - with gas prices I shan't be taking truck over too much any more!
So - next Wed 24 th should be the regular 22 steel shoot.
Oh BTW - don't forget - Saturday is IDPA and Sunday we have the big 22 steel shoot - details for 9am or 1pm IIRC.  maybe you got an email from Corey?
Not blatantly ''summery'' but something that only occurs in summer months mainly.
Sunday - which was absurdly hot - was a fun-fly at a fairly local club - and a very fine place to fly too with a large area for landing and take off.  Between mopping up sweat - almost every minute - flew the planes I had brought.
Rear red one is ''Spacewalker'' with Seito 120 4 cycle motor - cowl left off for convenience.  In front of that the red/white one is a ''Ryan STA'' 1/4 scale - also running with a Seito 120.
The background plane is a 1/4 scale Sopwith Pup bipe' powered by a SuperTigre 2000.
For those not intertested in R/C planes - you may yawn and move on Cheesy
Oops - might help if I added pic link - duh!
I've always wanted one of those.
Does it annoy anyone else when you are trying to scroll down the page at the same time the pics are loading, and you keep getting shuffled back halfway up?
ok looks like i gotta throw a few up here, starting with the purple mountians, some of the same area as  Winston's viewed from the other side of the bay
probably my best photo yet, not bad for only 3.2 megapix!!=
the fog that rolls in in the afternoon- although now, later in the summer, it is much higher and thicker. this pic is from July, a common early summer sight, i know it is full on summer when the fog comes in LOW thru the golden gate. wish i would have been able to go back up the hill and take more pics later the same day,
sooner or later i will get the full effect better/
and the Berkeley rose garden . some more of my best photos
i know too many bay shots.
i need to get out and find some better summer. ARgh! we're kinda in mid non summer now though- we seem to get very little summer in  late july/ august, but it comes back in late sept/ october for a few weeks.
i show you all what late summer grows like around here but it would probably upset some of you.....
maybe i will get to a party and take a pic eventually (a really wild party)
