I never cease to be amazed at the things people get all pissy about. Seriously now, does the fact that others don't view PC's (Macs/Linux) as teh bestest thing evar really matter? Is your life so shallow you need to attempt to denigrate people who choose a different computer platform than you? Geez...

It doesn't matter.  I've never met a PC user who viewed their computer as anything more than just a computer.  There are some gamer friend who rave about the latest upgrades (which is why I only use consoles) but not even any gamers are actually "windows fans".  To them it's just a means to an end.  Only my Mac using friends in college (I'm in my 20s) feel the need to actually make an issue out of which computer people use.  That's what I mean.  To Windows/PC users, it's "just a computer".  What OS the person is using isn't even something to think about.  Only people who use Mac rant and rave about the "experience" or how "Micro$oft" is an evil profit seeking corporation (not bothering to realize Apple is also a corporations after profits).  No one is getting pissy about anything.  But the fact remains, that Mac users above anyone else feel some innate need to defend and boast about their OS.  Again, to anyone but a Mac user, it's just a computer.  To Mac users, it's "an experience".

I use macs. I'm well aware of thier limitations, and absurd increase in cost over comparable hardware.

I use them because of great waranttee experience while deployed (applecare is international, unlike many companies whose plans cease once you step out of the country.

I also use them because Logic Studio is, in my opinion, better than (and indeed cheaper than) ProTools.

I also , being a space-challenged guy on my desk, like the small form factor that only iMacs seem to have done in a functional manner.

Recently, i wanted to upgrade the video. I bought a MXM card off the internet, opened the mac up, and installed it. Too easy. Macs are self-repairable, and most non-apple owned stores that are authorized apple resellers/repair shops will order parts for you if you ask them. Or , if you're like me, you get certified and order your own parts. I can do my own warantee repairs.

Yeah, there's some dumb fanboys... But don't lump everyone who uses a mac into the same group of nitwits. Some of us are smart IT pros who simply like them better. I also enjoy being able to worry less about viruses and malware.

Well, Mabs thinks it will make his penis increase in size.  Sounds like a helluva experience to me.

But aside from Mabs, yes, I have.
Nope.  That's not what I've been saying at all.  I'm saying that price per power there's no reason to buy a mac.  Ease of customization and repair is a bonus with PCs

I actually didn't see that in the image.
And who says we're pissy?  I grow tired of people who try to read my emotions and get them wrong IRL, but it's especially dumb on the internet.
We're posting in a thread about Macs Vs PCs on a discussion board.  I am discussing the subject.  You are not, though. =x
I (and I believe everyone else) have not denigrated anyone except the people in the video, who I believe to be actors.

You actually have to be certified to work on your own Mac without voiding the warranty? :|

Yep, same as any big box computer... you open an HP, you void your warranty.

You open a Dell, you void your warranty. Theres a metallic tamperproof seal sticker thingy, and if you break it (i've done it) it says "void" if you try to stick it back on.

So, apple is really doing nothing different than your beloved PC manufacturers are doing. You open the case, you void your warranty.

I think you "OMG YOU MAC FANBOIS ARE SO RETARDED" types are every bit as vehement and illogical in your opinions as the fanboys themselves. Not everyone's a mindless fanboy. I like my computer, it fits what I do, and how i like to do it. Why do you care so much?

And, I got certified so that i could do my own warranty repairs and get *expletive deleted*it for free. My motherboard broke, I logged onto GSX, put in a service ticket for self-repair, the part was shipped to me for free, I replaced the card and mailed the broken one back.

Considering that the iMac is based on laptop parts, I find this to be a pretty decent outcome. Motherboards are easy to come by for a traditional form factor computer, but if your laptop's motherboard broke, how easy would it be to find one for cheap?

Oh, I forgot.  I build my own computers.  All of my parts have individual warranties.  I also can't agree with people who buy pre-built computers.  They're also overpriced.

Wait...who are you talking about?  Who is going around this thread calling Mac fanboys retarded?  Like I said, this is a discussion board and we are discussing.

If I had to be certified to work on my own computer I don't think I would enjoy that.  When any of my computer parts break, I contact the manufacturer and they get me straight.  Having to be certified for that is like having to have a license to carry a gun.  It's just not natural.
