I posted " Is there any interest in creating a whistleblowing program that protects employees and contractors from career ending repercussions for reporting violations in classified environment? DOD 5240.R and ICWPA do not contain meaningful protections against reprisal and there is a strong perception of speaking up means ending your career. "
Which is very true, btw. ICWPA allows you to tell Congresscritters when you see something insanely illegal, unethical, immoral, etc. It just means you don't go to prison for it. They're still free to destroy your career and life. Legally. If you catch a deputy chief of station humping underage strippers inside a SCIF, yep, they can shred your career and give you the boot for reporting it. Hell, I once saw an IG get relieved for refusing to drop an investigation, his staff ramsacked said IG's office, and the CG still wasn't canned on the spot. If the IG can be spot-fired for following the rules, what do you think happens to the regular peons?
