Hey, wait a minute, my Mom's birthday is also May 11th! I'll have to ask her if she's ever been to Kowloon . . .
Or maybe not.
You guys shoulda been with me when they offloaded us in San Diego and towed us to Long Beach in heavy seas. The ship sits real high with no fuel or ammo. About 2/3 of the crew was new because we had just come back from the Western Pacific and that's what usually happens, everybody leaves and new folk come on board. Anyways, what a PUKEFEST!
My Dad told me about riding out a typhoon on a Liberty Ship during WWII . . . he said a lot of the sailors were getting seasick, and couldn't stand it that one of their Army Air Corps passengers was walking around munching on things like salami sandwiches and garlic dill pickles . . .
Get a Letter of Marque, and I'm in on the pirate hunt.
