Stimulus check info

Stimulus Payment Info

This year, taxpayers will receive an Economic Stimulus Payment. This is a very exciting new program that I will explain using the Q and A format:

Q. What is an Economic  Stimulus Payment?
A. It is money that the federal government will send to taxpayers.

Q. Where will the government get this  money?
A. From taxpayers.

Q. So the government is giving me back my own money?
A. Only a smidgen.

Q. What  is the purpose of this payment?
A. The plan is that you will use the money to purchase a high-definition TV Set, thus stimulating the economy.

Q. But isn't that stimulating the economy of China?
A. Shut up.

Below is some helpful advice on how to best help the US economy by spending your stimulus check wisely:

If you spend that money at Wal-Mart, all the money will go to China.
If you spend it on gasoline it will go to the Arabs.
If you purchase a computer it will go to  India.
If you purchase fruits and vegetables it will go to Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala (unless you buy organic).
If you buy a car it will go to Japan.
If you purchase useless crap it will go to Taiwan.

If you pay your credit cards off, it will go to bank management bonuses and they will hide it offshore.  Same with stock investment.

Instead, you can keep the money in America by spending it at yard sales, going to a baseball game, or spending it on prostitutes, beer and wine (domestic ONLY), or tattoos, since those are the only American businesses still operating in the US.

Maybe I'll get a tattoo.

That's the same as putting it in a REALLY SLOW paper shredder.

Not if you save in the form of a fund. I don't mean cash in a mattress, that's silly.

Some funds are making a mattress look pretty good.

So, when do we get this stimulation money and how much do we get?

It would be nice if the stimulus checks arrived before April 15th so I can use the money to pay taxes.

they announce the amount of the payoffs yet?

Now is a pretty good time to invest in an index fund.   =D

I made $877 last year (I did the math and that came up to about 60 hours), so I doubt I'll be getting any kind of stimulus, much less any kind of return.

Woo.

LOL.. Last stimulus check in the Dual household did indeed go to a Vizio 47" LCD HDTV... bought from Sam's Club no less.

Guilty as charged.

IIRC, the new stimulus (if there is one) was supposed to be a minor decrease in your fed witholdings, no? My main wish is if there is a new round of stimulus checks, Mrs. Dual would somehow never see one news report or talk with anyone about it, and I get the mail that day. (It went right as direct deposit last time, because of our e-file taxes...)

I could really use some more firearm stuff in case there's a new AWB2 round the bend. A PS90, some cases of ammo, and some mags for that and some of my other guns would be nice. Maybe I should just set up shop in the ghetto, and for a $25 "fee" help all the Obamamites do the "paperwork" to get their "Obama check" in the mail early, then just dissapear... I've already seen a few internet ads doing this.

Frankly, if I had no concience, I probably could be rich right now. Any business model that exploits the laziness, sense of entitlment, greed, ignorance, and instant gratification of certian demographics is sure to succeed. A network of rent to own stores, payday loan stores/check cashing places, and title loan companies with ursury rates is a license to print your own money it seems.

Got me a round trip plane ticket and most of a 7 day pass anyways. Seeing how's I opened a production company last year I'm writing it off on R&D. If you want to study entertainment, Disney is the place to go. At least 1/2 of my time was spent analyzing the place, so I feel comfortable about taking the write off(s). ;)

Don't that piss ya off? Writing off the trip to Disney, but it's entirely legit.

It used to be better, though. EPCOT was more World's Fair dreams and ideas than soft-drink ads, and they never, ever, ever did construction or maintenance during the day. Now they do. Walt called that "bad show" and wouldn't do it, since it ruined the suspension of disbelief that it was an idealized place to be, just magically maintained.

My favorite was still the now-destroyed Horizons, with all the futurist stuff, the slogan of "If we can dream it, we can do it", and the massive mural painted by Robert McCall. I still remember, as a little kid, having the ride car turn a corner into that double IMAX dome showing a shuttle launch, and then appearing to be looking out of the windows at the hub of an O'Neill habitat, seeing suburbs, roads, stadiums and parks going by below. It was very inspiring.

Cost too much. I did run outdoors to watch shuttle launches at night, though.

Company offered to send me to Disneyworld for an infosec conference.  I declined.  I prefer Las Vegas, it's the Disney experience for adults.
