Teacher Puts Sex Clip of Self on Students' DVD

ELK GROVE, Calif. —
A Northern California elementary school teacher sent her students home for the summer with a video of class memories, only the DVD included six seconds of her having sex on a couch.

Officials at the Elk Grove Unified School District asked families of the teacher's 24 students to get rid of the DVD after the unintended clip was found spliced in a scene where children were sharing stories in class.

"Just destroy them," said spokeswoman Torrey Johnson.

Johnson said the teacher, Crystal Defanti, sent the DVD home with her students from Isabelle Jackson Elementary on the last day of class Friday. She learned of the mistake after a parent called her. She then called all the parents to ask them to destroy the DVD.

The school district, located just south of Sacramento, initially sent a letter home to parents asking them to return the DVDs, but then asked parents to simply destroy them.

I still don't understand why people feel the need to film themselves having sex.

Is there any way in which this is actually newsworthy? Is there nothing happening in the US more important then someone putting SIX SECONDS of sex into a DVD?

It takes me more time to type this sequence than the ostensible OMG SEX TAPE would take up. If the teacher were actually planning to horribly corrupt the minds of the children, no doubt the tape would be slightly longer. The proper action would be for the teacher and school to issue an apology, and for everybody involved to build a bridge and get over it.

Well, there IS a huge issue of moral corruption at hand. The issue of moral corruption in the media. =D

Back to this thoroughly unimportant topic, though, I love how people like to say things like "It was ONLY six seconds of sex on a DVD," or "It was only a glimpse of a breast - that's totally insignificant!"   ;/

Mmm. As I ruminate on this, I think fistful is correct.

It is clear a film this long could not have ended up there by accident - after all, it's all of six seconds!. It is absolutely clear this evil woman was attempting to expose children to her horrible, perverse habits - in the same way as pedophiles expose small children to pornography in order to 'groom' them as potential victims. No doubt, this was her plan.

As such, this woman must be some form of pedophile sex-predator. Society must not tolerate such men and women as the custodians of our precious children. The authorities must act at once. First of all, and whatever the outcome of the proceedings to follow, she must be immediately and summarily fired, and blacklisted from any future work in an educational institution. Second, a judicial warrant to search her home must be found, to help prove the obvious child abuse charged that must immediately be filed, and to uncover further, horrible crimes. It would be best to acquire a no-knock warrant - lest this horrible woman remove additional evidence of her crime from the premises (not that additional evidence is required) when she hears the police knock. A tactical-team of the county's finest troopers should be sent in to deal with this dangerous predator - after all, this is what police gets their surplus M113 for, right? I am sure I speak for all of us upstanding citizens saying that nobody minds if this predator gets tazed a couple of times during arrest, right?

After the arrest is carried out, it is our moral duty to charge the lady with the proper sexual crime charges, with one count per every DVD distributed. And after she serves out her sentence - assuming she doesn't die in prison, of course - she must be barred from living within, oh, say, a mile or two from a school or kindergarten. By this time, the children whose minds she so irreparably damaged will surely have children of their own, and maybe even little innocent grandchildren - and they would not want this predator who so damaged their souls to be near the schools and playgrounds where their children play!

Ben, I think that's somewhat wasted on the resident APS porn star...  ;)

:)

Much as I was posting this mostly to make sport of the embarrassment of the teacher, Fistful makes a valid point. Whether I think this is no big deal is of little importance. Some of the PARENTS of the CHILDREN might have other views. Perhaps they have religious convictions, or perhaps they didn't quite yet want to have "the  talk" with their kids. Even if parents filter what their kids watch on TV, or sites they visit on the internet, who is going to expect to filter a "memories" DVD from a taxpayer funded public school for sex scenes?

Parents still have the right and the freedom to raise their kids as they see fit. If They don't want their kids to be "sex positive" until they're 18, that is their right. For similar reasons, APS doesn't show porn vids and filters inappropriate posts.

Which is why, no doubt, the heretic must be purged. Any suggestions that this might be an honest accident are to be cast off.

Who the hell is talking about purging heretics? We're talking about whether some parents might object to their kids viewing sex scenes, whether on purpose or accidentally. Nowhere in the article did it say the teacher was being fired, and no one here said it either.

Simmer down dude.

...I was joking. Sheesh.

The parents have the right, indeed, to control the content their children receive. This person should apologize to them, as I've already stated. This is, however, not newsworthy. This is an issue about some minor problem the people of X county have with their teacher.  It's not Gratuitous Moral Corruption Sweeping The Nation and Stealing Our Kids. I am entirely perplexed why anybody would think this deserves anything more than two inches in the 'curio' section of the newspaper.

Maybe because no governors were caught having affairs today, and Obama wasn't seen playing basketball, having a hamburger, reading a newspaper, or going on a date with his wife.

Who said it's anything but a mistake, and when did it become a major news story?  Yeah, it's on the internet, but so is everything else.  Heck, I heard you could even find sex videos online, with sex-positive Israeli translators.  :P

But seriously, news outlets and web sites are going to cover this, because it gets folks attention.  For whatever reason, people are going to read it.  That doesn't mean that anyone thinks it's the downfall of Western civilization, or a sinister plot to pollute the minds of children.
