Say it ain't so: Steven Segal and DeNiro together in a movie
« on: August 28, 2010, 07:22:27 PM »
I saw an ad for a movie featuring Robert DeNiro and Steven Segal. At first I thought I heard the ad wrong, so I checked on it, and it's true. The movie is "Machete".

From the little I read about it, the movie is getting good reviews. The trailer looked awful.

Nothing good can come from this. ;)

No but I saw him riding a horsie in some movie recentlyand he was looking a mite skeered by the whole thing if you ask me.  You could tell he wasn't much of a rider.

What if the nudity is Steven Seagull?   [barf]  That would cause me to become excessively violent!

So, is Danny Trejo's character supposed to be the same knife-tossing dude from "Desperado?"

It was based on the character from the "Grindhouse" trailers ("Machete", "Nazi Werewolf Women from Outer Space =D" "Don't!") which may or may not be based on the "Desperado" character.

That ruined it for me...that, and the push to politicize it into an anti-Arizona, anti-border security Nerf bat to beat conservatives into submission.....

I may see it one day....but only in a way that doesn't put money into that studio's pocket....maybe I'll get a bootleg copy from Mexico.....  ;)

The Desperado character was just muscle for a drug cartel.  Isn't the Machete character a Federale?  Not that the two can't be the same...

I can't find it again but I saw a review yesterday that said the movie is basically a political film aimed purely at making people who oppose illegal immigration into demons. I guess I'll reverse course and NOT see this movie.
