The news services are scouring the country looking for any shootings they can go national with.  This one won't get much traction because it was a conservative "family values" group that was shot at.

Family Research Council?  Traditional marriage, family values,  etc.  This could get interesting.

If it does get interesting, as in some lefty going postal, this will drop from the public view very quickly.

Family Research Council. http://www.frc.org/

One of the specific organizations listed as a "hate group" by the lefties that Chic-fil-A supports. (As proof that Chic-fil-A is a hate company.)
I wish the Ring had never come to me. I wish none of this had happened.

So do all who live to see such times. But that is not for them to decide. All we have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to us. There are other forces at work in this world, Frodo, besides the will of evil. Bilbo was meant to find the Ring. In which case, you also were meant to have it. And that is an encouraging thought

The suspect "made statements regarding their policies, and then opened fire with a gun striking a security guard," a source told Fox News. WJLA-TV7 reported the suspect was also shot. Sources also said the gunman may have been carrying a bag from Chick-fil-A, the embattled fast-food restaurant whose president came under fire from gay activists after he said he did not agree with same-sex marriage.

The bothersome to this stuff is the full-bore + FBI response to the shootings.

I understand that shootings are not good, but there seems to be a large Federal over action.

While the FBI has more experience with these types of things, they should assist the local police force, not roll in and take over.

Yeah. The old anti's are going to look at this lot of new lefty's with guns and say "see, we're right. People can't be trusted with guns."
They created a whole generation raised to belive their hoopla about the purpose of guns, and now we have their children using firearms in the way they predicted.

Recent story. More details.

 http://abcnews.go.com/m/story?id=17013563

They're saying the unidentified terrorist shot the guard, then the guard tackled him. With some assistance from others on the scene,he was able to keep the guy from doing any further damage.

Look for the guard's actions to be reported as "FRC suppresses dissent to its extremist agenda."

Suspect has been named.

So there's a teacher in Virginia named Floyd Corkins. So we can start blaming the NEA for this.

WTOP is reporting that the gun was purchased last week, legally, in Virginia.

The suspect's car has been impounded at the East Falls Church Metro lot.

There really should be a law making it illegal to do things like this.

You're missing that it took place in Washington, DC. The Federal enclave. The Feds don't like it when people commit crimes on their turf.

A long time ago in a galaxy far away, I was a material witness in a white collar crime in which the (alleged) perpetrator (allegedly) overbilled the Federal government for consulting services. The Assistant Attorney General for the state involved at one point told the AAG investigating the incident to drop it because the amount (allegedly) gained through fraud and deceipt was below some magic threshold that the DOJ uses to decide what cases are worth prosecuting. The investigating AAG then told her boss, "But he was working for US."

The prosecution went forward.

Like what?

a) Purchase guns?

b) Ride the Metro (from East Falls Church)?

c) Impound cars parked in Metro parking lots?

Other than the poor security guard being shot, whole event seems to be zero-sum/political neutral.

- Right wing group targeted. No media exposure.
- Doesn't add to gun control pressures.
- MSM non-reporting/back-paging/downplaying exposes their hypocrisy/bias.
- Only those who already know the MSM is hypocritical/biased will notice or care.
I promise not to duck.

But guns are illegal in DC..........

We should make them MORE illegal.

What is the capacity of that gun? I ask because in DC, a gun with more than 12 rounds is a MACHINE GUN!!

I type this with an evil MACHINE GUN at my side..
