Be Nice to Revdisk
« on: June 24, 2015, 01:26:16 PM »
Be nice to Revdisk. I've found that new mods are always itching to use the banhammer.

Rev is on staff now to help take the load off Nick on tech issues, but of course will have regular mod powers. I have always found him to be a very level-headed member, and expect that he will be an excellent and fair moderator.

I, for one, welcome our new overbearing overload and mad scientist tech guru kind and gentle peace keeper and system fixer upper.
That is all. *expletive deleted*ck you all, eat *expletive deleted*it, and die in a fire. I have considered writing here a long parting section dedicated to each poster, but I have decided, at length, against it. *expletive deleted*ck you all and Hail Satan.

I want to echo what Ben said.  The good Rev is here to help Nick with the technical side of keeping APS up and running, but will have full Mod powers and keys to the Banschwerk.  If he has to deploy it, I'm sure it will be with good reason.  Just hope that's all he uses...

Of all the possible things Rev could do to you, banning you from APS is probably the nicest one.

Could we invest Rev with irregular mod powers?  Like limited authority on alternate Tuesdays, but super-awesome mod powers on his religion's high holy days.  Or maybe make him use a Finnish template when interacting with the moderator bits?  I found that making changes in the BIOS while using Finnish rather than English makes for hilarity.  And we all want Rev happy.

He has discussed access to a backhoe, and the existence of a concrete-lined pit in his garage.

Isn't he, like, fer sure dude, busy writing a book or two about an apocalypse, like, or something like that?  Isn't he too busy to be a mod or admin?

This business will get out of control! It will get out of control and we'll be lucky to live through it!
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

Well, to do that you'd have to write some custom code. And the person who would have to write the code would be...RevDisk.  [tinfoil]
