Our home has a sump pump in the basement, in the laundry room. There is always some water in the bottom of the pump well, which I hit with a little chlorine bleach from time to time to keep the water from getting too stagnant. Well, it's been a really wet summer, and I've forgotten to dump any bleach in for some time. Go down this morning, and find a bunch of mosquitoes flying around in the laundry room. The room has no exterior access, so I'm guessing that a couple of mosquitoes came in when we were dumping bags from summer camp and took to setting up home in the sump pump.
So, tapping the APS brain trust here...will bleach in the pump actually do me any good against further breeding, or is there something else I can safely put in the pump to off the little buggers without screwing up the pump?
