I liked Elizabeth Montgomery for her personality, and Barbara Eden for her looks, but I couldn't listen to Barbara Eden..

My dad developed a crush on Barbara Eden when he was in his 70's, and it continued through his eighties. He had every episode of "I Dream Of Jeanie", as well as all of the movies she made. (I didn't know she'd made any). After he died, my brother and I were going through his papers, and I opened a folder. In it were nude pictures of Barbara Eden. I wouldn't think that any would exist, as there were morals clauses in the TV contracts back then. Still, it made me say, "way to go, Dad!"

Actually, what prompted this was I recently saw one of Montgomery's movies with Henry Silva, "Johnny Cool."

At first, I thought it was another "Johnny This or that" movie, like Johnny Dollar and Johnny O'clock, but it turned out to be a fascinating combination of film noir and modern ruffntuff cinematic storytelling.  And with EM.  Wow.

Unfortunate title, to my mind.

And with a not-so-happy ending.  "Hayes Code" compliant, though, in terms of the bad guy getting his upcommance.



Yeah, "girl next door."  Riiiiight. What an acting range.
