The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is moving to eliminate all accelerated math options prior to 11th grade, effectively keeping higher-achieving students from advancing as they usually would in the school system.Loudoun County school board member Ian Serotkin posted about the change via Facebook on Tuesday. According to Serotkin, he learned of the change the night prior during a briefing from staff on the Virginia Mathematics Pathway Initiative (VMPI).
So policy makers in the U.S. complain that students from other countries are better than U.S. students in STEM subjects, so our solution is to DEemphasize mathematics?Does ... not ... compute. Error. Gross mismatch between input and output.
Logic is racist.
The Virginia Mathematics Pathway Initiative shifts to a focus on and value for deeper learning through differentiated instruction on grade level that will promote student development of critical thinking, authentic application and problem solving skills.
Just wait until these people start building bridges and stuff. Oh wait I think some of them do already.
And people wonder why the Chinese, Indians, Japanese, South Koreans, etc., are eating our *expletive deleted*ing lunches in developing highly technical students.
Part of the article states that:They don't want the people to have those skills as that would make them too "independent" to be "controlled" by Big Brother.
If you sat down and drew out a plan to turn the US into a broken divided 3rd world country how would it be any different from what they're doing?
So... what they are trying to say is black people are too stupid to do advanced math? That is crazy....and evil. They are pretending to help kids by dumbing down their education. (The exact same thing is happening on the college level, in my experience.)
