Entertaining aside:
I have steadfastly refused to call it Ft. Liberty. It's hilarious because one of the unit's whose equipment I maintain is a SOCOM Detachment. All their maintenance requests go back to Bragg for their Maintenance weanie to put in the system. Apparently the leadership up there is death on dead naming the Fort, and people routinely get written up, and here I am some Army Reserve Warrant Officer with zero *expletive deleted*s to give sending "Reply to All" emails with things like "Have the guys up in Bragg cut the work order and send it to me."
I got like 4 terse E-mails from Bragg before I took the Det Sgt down here aside and pointed out that they are Active Duty, and I am spending USAR resources to help them out, and his HQ could chill the *expletive deleted*ck out, or they could find the OTHER shop qualified to do small arms and NODs maintenance in Tampa. (there isn't one). So far they have chilled out, but it's only a matter of time before some O4 up there reads another e-mail of mine.
I still call them Benning and Hood too.
