That is my read of the situation as well.  She probably started a lot of those "heated exchanges".

I have no doubt.

I don't even need to be warned about not starting controversial discussions at work. My grandparents taught us from a very young age to always avoid discussions of religion and politics. I have always made it a point to follow that advice and, curiously enough, after 60+ years in the working world I have never been fired or even disciplined for disruptive behavior.

If I'm not being paid to advocate for [___], I don't feel any overwhelming urge to advocate for [___]. If I'm hired to perform a job, I view my role as to show up, do my job, and go home at the end of the day. I have too much work to do to waste time arguing over something I'll never convince other people about.

From the article:

Quote
Hesen Jabr, a nurse at NYU Langone Health, said she was terminated on May 22, the first day she arrived back on shift after delivering a speech on May 7 during Nurse's Week for her work with bereaved mothers who lost their children during pregnancy or childbirth.

Somehow I'm not seeing a lot of relevance between miscarriages or stillbirths, and Palestine.

Based on what he was spewing before the election I highly doubt it and I think it's more of a case of he thinks the more democrat the better despite that R next to his name.
Nerdrotic lives in the San Antonio area now.  On his livestream today, he said all the commercials on the TV at his gym were anti-Brandon ads almost on a loop.  The incumbent spent a butt load of money defending his seat.  He should at least feel some pressure to at least keep up appearances.

I read that article, and went to her IG post to hear her say:
And I was like:  Really?  That's it?  Maybe not super appropriate for work, but firing offense?  Seems an overreaction.

Then I got farther into the article and got to:

Oooh,  I get it now.  She's one of those that can't STFU, no matter what.  Good on NYU for doing the paperwork and getting out of that toxic relationship.

In 1989, Texas v. Johnson, the supreme court held that burning the American flag was protected as free speech.  Why wouldn't a burn out on any flag be the same?
You could make that argument.  If they can show the charges are more than would otherwise be charged, it might work.

I saw someone comparing it to the illegal street burnouts in some cities, but I don't know if I have heard of those happening in Florida.

Update on dogman

How much you want to bet there's "doctors" calling him right now saying they can help him with that problem
But in the meantime

Man who spent $14K to become a collie changes his mind after realizing it's 'very difficult' to walk like a dog

Does anyone specialize in unopened NOS Office Pro versions, presumably for significantly less than a new retail package? 2021 would be nice, but going back a version or two is no biggie if it saves a chunk of coin.

Brad

Here: https://softkeyworld.com/product/microsoft-office-2021-professional-plus/

Seems to be at least quasi-legit. I bought Office Pro 2021 from them recently and it installed and activated with no hiccups.

When you go to the site, there should be a pop-up for a 20% discount.

And another question...

If I decide to go M.2 and start from scratch, will Windows automatically configure the M.2 drive as bootable given a fresh install? In other words, is it as simple as powering down, pulling all the old drives, installing the M.2, and booting from install media?

It should.  Boot should be set to UEFI, and bios needs to see the m.2.  Anything reasonably current should be fine.

I presume MS picks up the OS licensing automatically the first time you go online, but I'm a W10/11 reinstall virgin. Everything I've done in that respect has been incremental upgrades.

Brad

Again, it should.

Just dawned on me... With SWBMO retiring effective May 31, she will lose access to Microsoft Office come Saturday. I get access to the full Office suite under my campus identity but I'd much rather we have a personally-owned standalone version. Campus has gone strictly M365 with a ton of very intrusive oversight which I'd rather sidestep. I really, really, really don't want to go O365 on a personal subscription, mostly for the perpetual cost. I'd rather stay away from Open Office for now, mostly because I do a not-insignificant amount of work from home and need the certainty of single-platform apps, performance, and compatibility. Home & Student is out because it only allows for a single install/user and doesn't include Outlook or Publisher. So, looks like Pro it is.
