Springsteen was never a great voice. He had good hooks and decent lyrics that resonated with a lot of people.
And yeah, a lifetime s8nging has worn what voice he had down. I remember I went to a Meatloaf concert a couple years before he died. That guy did have a heck of a voice in his prime, but it was pretty wore out as well. Left me k8nda sad leaving the show, li,e why not hang it up when you don't have it anymore? Same holds true for some athletes I guess. It's all they know so they just hang on, a shell of themselves.
I just discovered this app. Pulsepoint lets you add the emergency services for your city/county and it will display in near realtime all incidents being responded to as well as a short history of responses. It's medical, fire, traffic, etc. but not police incidents. It also lets you listen to realtime radio traffic if your jurisdiction is unencrypted (my county is encrypted).

I have been using this for a while now, and I have it set such that if CPR is needed by my location, I get a notification and can respond. I figure I can at least be the two-legged Lucas device until the big red van arrives on scene.
