So the Electic Car is as I always suspected doomed to failure on two fronts:
1) Battery technology, unless and until there is huge (quantum) leap in storage technology, which given that it is constrained by simple chemistry/physics it won't overcome the max 100 mile (under optimum conditions) range limitation.
2) The severe lack of the precious and rare earth (they are called that for a reason) elements needed for the vehicle/power infastructure drives the price higher and makes mass production highly unlikely.
Since the introduction of the automobile, there has been the on-going chorus of predictions that the battery powered car(that is as good as or better than the ICE car) is right round the corner. Yet, the basic facts of nature conspire to prevent it creation.
