Bah.  I prefer to roll with a 12 gauge.  Ain't much arguing with that.   cool

You need THIS:

Regolith, I'm guessing you don't know what that is. It's a Serbu Super Shorty. A 12-gauge in a holster.

If you're going to carry a full-sized shotgun, that's a duck gun there. Do it right. Wink

I am well aware of what a Serbu Super Shorty is.  A shotgun without a butt stock is probably the dumbest idea anyone came up with.  Neat range toy.  Not much more than that.  PGO shotguns are difficult to aim and control, not to mention a bit harsh on your hands and wrists.

And while my shotgun might not be tacticooled out, it is still an extremely capable weapon, particularly for home defense. Also, I've never heard of a duck gun with rifle sights, but perhaps I'm a bit old fashioned.

I have an 870 with a Knoxx Copstock on it. It's got a piston or somesuch in it that make full-power magnum loads absolutely controllable even with just the pistol grip held. Totally eats up the recoil.

Oh dear...

I'm apparently even MORE weinerfied now...

I just added another .38 Special, and this one isn't even capable of using .38 +Ps...

I'm even more weinerfied than you.  My new toy is not only old enough to be your new toy's daddy, it shoots an even weaker cartridge: 32 Long.  I'll toss 90gr lead softballs in your direction at a blistering 750fps. <Pfft> Cheesy

You need to do even better and get a 7.62 Nagant. Weak 150ft/lb round AND a grinding, screamingly painful double-action trigger pull from hell. (20 lbs!) cheesy

Interesting gun, but DA is like "RRRRRRGGGG....ARRRG...*bang*"

Sorry, but the Nagant eclipses the power of the 32 Long by 8gr of bullet weight and 100fps.

Regolith, I think the suggestion to wear a holstered shotgun was intended as a joke, in this case.

I love how you guys took a thread about shooting home invaders in the back, and turned it into this - uh - hilarious mess.  Bravo.   laugh

How is this superior to a semi-auto 12-gauge shotgun?

I'm going to guess you've never fired an Mosin-Nagant carbine with the shorter barrel, that you can imagine what it'd be like from something that short. grin

Not particularly impressed with that sawed-off Noisy Magnet.  Especially since I can almost guarantee it's not NFA, while at the same time being broadcast here on a public gun-related forum.   undecided

Maybe it's in Europe.  Agent Schmuckatelli, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

PGO shotguns?  Waste of good money.  Check in with Dave Mc on THR for the full story on that.  It looked good when James Caan used one in El Dorado, and that's about it.

The forum it was on said it was a registered SBR, and the filename itself says "SBR", so I assumed it was safe to post.

Some people have a lot of time and money for tax stamps!

As for PG shotguns? Old-style grip, yes, it's a good way to punch your teeth in. But the COPstock really does work, and makes it absolutely controllable by routing all that recoil into an internal mechanism.

Try one, you'll be amazed.

What's wrong with short-barrreled semi-auto shotguns?

Most of the pictures of very abbreviated Mosins I've seen have been of guns confiscated from gangsters in the former Soviet Republics.

Regolith, please tell me about the rifle sights on that 870.

Thanks,

Well, what exactly do you want to know about them?  They came on the factory 20" Remington barrel that I bought last month.

They aren't the best rifle sights I've used, but they work ok.  They're a bit slower than I was expecting because of the narrow notch in the rear sights, but it's not that big a deal since I can point the gun accurately enough without them.
