Hovering around $2.79-$2.82 in these parts.

I paid #3.019 for unleaded regular ethanol at the discount club. That's up 5 cents/gallon, after it had been at $2.969 for four or five weeks.

Bumped up to $2.99 here over the last couple of days.  That's a 17 cent increase.

Around $2.90ish here in St. Louis, but our Fearless Leader reduced it from over $4.00, so we should vote for him.

Picked up a friend in St. Louis Saturday so we could both do some errands (she doesn't have a car) and went to a ZX gas station on Choteau just east of Jefferson.  While most of the stations were at $2.999/gal (per stlouisgasprices.com), this station was $2.729.
In nearby IL-ANNOY, two stations by the "junior college" were $2.999, most were $3.199 to $3.299.

$2.899 at the local Texaco station on 2/10/2024. That's less than the peak during the last couple of years, but is still a buck a gallon more than I paid during Trump's last days in office, a 53% increase. Let's Go Brandon.

There was talk on the local radio this morning about how we're soon going to the "summer blend" for gas - which is normally $0.10 to $0.20 per gallon more than the "winter blend".

Much like the talk last year about changing from the summer to winter blends, where the winter blend is/was ~$0.10 to $0.20 per gallon more than the summer blend.

Yep. They're replacing the more expensive winter blend with the more expensive summer blend. Then, in late fall, they'll replace the more expensive summer blend with the more expensive winter blend.

Prices have actually been slipping here the last week or so. They topped out at, IIRC, $3.39 at the Wawa, but are now down to $3.19.

It's dropped another 4 cents a gallon at the Wawa and Global.

And, I now have 90 cents a gallon off with my grocery store rewards points. After Saturday, it will be $1 off.

In a circle about 8 mi. in diameter, most stations in this area are $3.699.  However. there are 4 close to each other that are $3.389.

And this morning back up to $3.29 at the Wawa.

The other stations in the area haven't caught up yet.

But they will.

Good God, this thread has been going on for nearly 10 years now. I had no clue I'd started it that long ago.

When I did, the Wawa hadn't been built and the Global near me was still a Citgo, which had regular unleaded for $3.15 a gallon.

We are in the $3.02 to $3.07 range presently.

Gasoline had dropped back to $3.13-$3.16 at stations in my area.

Until the last two days.

Now everyone is in the $3.39 range.

My guess is that the switch from the more expensive winter gasoline to the more expensive summer blend gasoline is happening.

Pretty volatile pricing around here lately.  Up to $3.25-$3.29 a bit over a week ago.  Back down to the $3.09 range until yesterday.  Now back up, this time to $3.39.

I hadn't been paying attention and got gas yesterday and looked at the sign. Holy crap - we're back to $3.95 here (rural - I don't know what the Costco is charging - probably 20ish cents less).
