I filled up the truck today.

Diesel 3.699

Unleaded 3.699

MidGrade (Plus) 4.199

Premium 4.399

A 50 cent per gallon jump from Unleaded to mid-grade is kind of steep. I remember when the price increased 10 cents per gallon per grade.  I wonder if it because of the number of cars requiring 89 octane vs 87.

At this rate it will be cheaper to drive my diesel dually than the wife's Grand Cherokee.

Gas has dropped back down to around $3.32 at the Global and Wawa. Other stations are a bit higher in my area.

Oil prices are dropping the past few days. Currently WTI is sitting at $76 and change.

Well crap. Oil really turned it around today.

Was down about $1.50 a barrel, is now up 77 cents a barrel.

Gasoline dropped to $3.23 a gallon at the Wawa this morning.

Time for a sudden, unexplained spike.

For some reason, prices in this area of ILL-ANNOY have an an 18 cents/gal spread, ranging from maybe a dozen stations at $3.719 and about twice as many at $3.899.
Go figure.

Though it usually hovers around a 15-20 cent spread here when you include Costco and Sam's in the equation I have seen a 40-50 cent spread from time to time.

No Costco but a Sam's Club near here (not a member) and their price is $3.619, a dime less than the best of the other stations.

Thursday, August 8, I paid $3.259 for unleaded regular (10% ethanol) at the discount club. IIRC, that's down 2 cents from the week before.

WTI closed below $72 a barrel today based largely on 800,000 US jobs being figments of the Biden Admin's imagination.

Gas is still sitting at around $3.07-$3.09 a gallon at the Global and the Wawa, $3.25 at the Sunoco, and $3.39 at the Shell.

I tanked up at the Shell on Saturday at $2.35 after using my grocery discount points.

Whoa. Crude is in freefall today. Down $3 a barrel at the moment and it looks like, from the news, it could drop below $70.

Nice.

I filled up the heap on the way home from work today (Friday, 9/6). I paid $3.019 for unleaded regular at the discount club.

That's down about 25 cents per gallon since the last fill-up. Part of that may be because it's after Labor day so the gas companies are done gouging vacation travelers, and it's also closing in on the election so the cynic in me thinks the Dems are pushing prices down so they can tell people how great they are. However, if the worldwide price of crude is falling, perhaps the Dems aren't behind it.

Gas bounced up around 25 cents a gallon a few days after my August 21 note.

Crude has dropped close to $68 flat a barrel.

Gas hasn't moved here since it bumped up. Still sitting at $3.25 to $3.29 a gallon.

IIRC, last Monday gas at the local Murphy's was $2.69 for the cheap stuff.  Today it's at $2.91 for ethanol, $2.99 for diesel.

WTI is down $3 a barrel right now, to $65 and change.

Brent just dropped to its lowest level since late 2021.

Gas and diesel are both $3.59 here right now. I can't remember the last time I saw them both the same price.

Filled the truck today, e10/85 was $2.69, non-ethanol $3.69 and diesel $2.67.  Yep, diesel cost less than the cheap gasoline!

Prices have finally started to move.

Down to $3.19 (from $3.27) at the Global.

Down to $3.27 (from $3.29) at Wawa. Big drop there, Wawa.
