I bet they would have chanted for Palestine.

No link as I just now heard it on the teevee. Apparently Brazilian judges have a ridiculous amount of power. The judge who is banning X in Brazil has also instituted $9K US fines for anyone caught using VPN.

It was Brazil's Supreme Court, not just a single federal judge just doing what he wanted.

And it comes after a rather prolonged battle between Musk/X and Brazil.

And the judge didn't simply decree there will be fines... he called for fines.

This morning my reddit feed was full of images of kids on tractors with lines like, "Hey UK, look at this!". I couldn't figure it out until I ran into this:

https://www.farminguk.com/news/farmer-sentenced-after-neighbour-films-child-in-tractor-cab_65219.html

A UK farmer got a 3500 pound fine for letting his grandkid ride in the (enclosed cab) tractor with him. To make matters worse, a neighbor ratted him out.

I'm glad I don't live in the UK.

Slap a "I heart Sharia Law" sticker on the tractor next time and they will arrest the neighbor

My neighbor recently shared pictures of his 1 year old napping on his chest while he drove his tractor.

My 3 year old sits on my lap and drives mine regularly.

The UK is getting more and more disappointing.

Soon, for general safety, they'll pass a law that you can no longer leave your home unless you're wearing a sumo suit. Don't want anyone falling down and scraping a knee or anything. Or drowning.

What's old becomes new again.  Julie Andrews, Robert Preston, James Garner, Lesley Ann Warren, and Alex Karras already did this.

What movie did Robert Preston and James Garner pretend to be women in?

They were in Victor Victoria (great movie) but I don't think they did the triple reverso that Julie Andrews did.

Robert Preston taking Julie Andrew's place in one of the final scenes was absolutely hysterical, though.

Lets not confuse movies where something is done to entertain or amuse with what someone is doing in real life. Andrews was born a woman and walked away from that character a woman and has never expected us to see her as anything but a woman in real life. What Mulvaney is doing is insanity and the fact the left expects us to support his insanity is even more insane.

How about Linda Hunt playing a man in The Year of Living Dangerously and winning an Oscar for the role?
She IMHO did a darn fine job but lets not lose sight of the fact she was just acting.

Seriously underrated movie that seems forgotten nowadays

Agreed !  And NO, they didn't.  I just was listing the major cast.  =D

I agree about Hunt's talents but I have never watched that movie.
I enjoyed her all too short appearance in the 1984 version of "DUNE" as the Shadout Mapes.  She was even more enjoyable as the principal in "Kindergarten Cop".
I'm just disappointed that she has turned into another "lap-licker".

Now Brazil has seized Starlink's assets.

Does anyone else think this Judge looks like a grade B Bond villain?

I've been sort of keeping an eye on that mess down there and don't know what to believe but even if half of it is true it's amazing a judge has that much power down there that he can basically act like a dictator over a whole country.

I'm wondering if the judge is just assuming power he really doesn't have, and people are going along with it because they can't realistically push back.  It is effectively an authoritarian socialist government that the citizens voted in.
If there really was intelligent life on other planets, we'd be sending them foreign aid.

Conservatives see George Orwell's "1984" as a cautionary tale.  Progressives view it as a "how to" manual.

My wife often says to me, "You are evil and must be destroyed." She may be right.

Liberals believe one should never let reason, logic and facts get in the way of a good emotional argument.
