Physical fitness has always been central to the far right. In “Mein Kampf,” Hitler fixated on boxing and jujitsu, believing they could help him create an army of millions whose aggressive spirit and impeccably trained bodies, combined with “fanatical love of the fatherland,” would do more for the German nation than any “mediocre” tactical weapons training.

Earlier than that - my Dad told me during WW2 basic training they had an unarmed combat instructor who was well versed in karate, so that was in the early '40s. (Don't know how they represented it since there was still a prevailing mindset that the Japs were all sneaky nearsighted idiots with buck teeth. Combat changed a lot of minds in a hurry.)

I lost around 25lbs during hospitalization. That put me into the middle of "normal" BMI weight. When a friend came over to visit me she started to cry I looked so emaciated.

Theodore Roosevelt practiced jiu jitsu. And he was not the first one. There was also bartitsu, a mixed martial arts system developed by a  Englishman named  E.W. Barton-Wright, that combined judo, boxing, canne de combat, savate and Swiss wrestling. This was in 1898. But the real popularity began with returning servicemen after WW2, and it really picked up in the 60s and 70s.

Making fun of Kamala's outfit

All of a sudden, the Kamala tweet was being re-framed as racist and dozens of Twitter accounts were bragging about contacting my employers about my “bigotry.”

They told me that the tweet I sent about Kamala was “racist” and that subsequent follow-ups defending myself and making fun of the efforts to cancel me were unacceptable. I had violated the company’s social media policy, they said, and I was terminated effective immediately.

Despite multiple appeals, during which company officials admitted that the perception of racism was more important than whether or not my tweet was actually racist, the company has refused to reverse its decision. Meanwhile, my image and bio is still being used on the WMAL website and social media channels to promote their programming. I am racist enough not to be paid, but not so racist that my likeness cannot be affiliated with the station, apparently.

About a month ago today, I posted a tweet during the State of the Union address poking fun at Vice President Kamala Harris’s outfit. Harris wore a chocolate brown business suit that was panned on social media — some users compared her to a Hershey’s chocolate bar, while others wondered why she wore the same color as her chair. I went for a UPS joke, featuring the company’s now retired slogan:

No surprise. Late to the game, but I've been poking around Reddit of late, and their "moderators" don't appear to be any better than the Twitter nitwits.

As an example, I went to the Reddit thread on "Resident Alien" to see if others, like me, were feeling that Season 2 went woke. I read posts from one of their moderators or reditors or whatever they're called boasting / complaining about the work involved banning something like "50 bigots in the past week" who had complained about one of the episodes being over the top woke.

"Free speech" as long as it aligns with the woke jerks that work at Reddit.
