This image is making the rounds all over Reddit. I'm interested in APS.mil.guys opinion on this. Right off the bat, shouldn't there be a GWOT medal for Vance? Also, Sergeant is speeled wrong.

Vance's DD214 is public.  He has a GWOT, Iraqi campaign medal, Sea Service Deployment Medal, and a National Defense medal as well as the Achievement medal and Good Conduct medal they list there.  It looks like he got the NMC Achievement Medal as his participation award for the deployment, which is in line with an E-4 that didn't mess up, but also didn't do anything cool.

Walz's NGB22 (National Guard 214) is also public, and I didn't see his Army Commendation Medal on it, but I'm not a NG Paperwork guy, and other sources have said he got one, so Maybe?  The rest of it is on there.  Other than the ARCOM and two AAM's the rest of that is participation awards everyone got for being in and not Fing up.  Without reading the awards I can't say what the other awards are for.  For comparison, I have a bunch of AAM's.  I got them for things like Highest qual score in Basic Training, Running Brigade Range really well, Honor Grad at an NCO school...stuff like that.  You normally give a retiring soldier some kind of retirement medal.  A CSM with 24 years You'd normally see that be an ARCOM or MSM, unless he's a total tool that no one likes, So I expect that ARCOM was either his Italy trip, or his retirement medal.

Also, E-9 is not the "Highest Rank Available in the U.S. Army".

Along that line of thinking, if Kamala does not have good numbers against Trump by the time of their convention (10 days or so), do y'all think there is a chance they will dump her and try to select someone else?

I think they're committed and hoping they can keep her within the margin of cheating which she currently is.

Stupid comparison. Neither Harris, Biden, nor Trump saw any military service at all. So why are these propagandists doing a fruit salad contest? What are the military achievements of Obama, Romney, or either of the Clintons?

The point is, Walz lied about going to war, and lied about his rank. Vance has not been caught lying about either of those things.

Interesting. Going from the Biden/HARRIS administration hiring 80,000 new IRS agents with directions that included going after unreported tips to, "No tax on tips!". That's a somehow familiar sounding slogan to me.

The KH/Walzing Matilda ads here in Michigan are shameless lies to the point of laughability.  My lefty friends are all so excited they are creaming their jeans while they hover over CNN, MSNBC.

The one that begs Trump to jump on but the R's are too stoopid to catch on is when she talks about Trump moving us back into the past.  A perfect come back add would be Yes, I am moving back, back to cheap gas, drill baby drill, no inflation, no stock market turmoil, lots of good paying jobs, manufacturing coming back to America, a bit more peace and stability, not racial strife and divisiveness....A perfect chance, but we'll not see it.

I saw on the reddits this morning that the popular story of the day is how the Trump/Elon interview failed because of technical issues and how badly run X is. Then I saw a clip of Elon saying that they were hit by a malware attack.

EDIT: I just read that Musk has volunteered to assist on making the government more efficient in the same way he streamlined X.  =D

Not totally 2024 but related as I fully expect Harris and friends to repeat what Newsom said as "fact"

Quote
Ian Miller
@ianmSC
Gavin Newsom claims it’s a “fact” that energy costs are lower in California than in Texas or Florida when the average cost per kilowatt hour in California is 34.3 cents and it’s 14.7 cents in Texas and 14 cents in Florida

I mean, how is he this bad?

Reading it was a DoS (denial-of-service) attack. Not hard to do.

In response to Mr. Ian Miller: because he's a politician and he lies.

He referenced politifact, so I did a search and came up with this:
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2017/nov/16/john-cox/does-california-have-highest-electricity-bills-nat/
Basically, a Republican candidate for governor of CA claimed that California has "the highest electricity bills".  They interpreted that not as cost per kilowatt hour, but overall cost.  The Politifact article says that California has the 6th highest retail price for electricity, but because of low consumption the total monthly residential bill is lower than average.  Because of course Politifact decided to parse it that way.

So Florida or Texas might have significantly cheaper electricity, but they use more.

Yes, he was responding to a question about reducing the cost of electricity and he replied pretending they were talking about the overall bill, because he's a lying politician.

Hmmm........

I wonder if there's an identifiable reason FL or TX might use more KWH per household then temperate, dry CA known for it's steady breezes?

As Kamala Harris's lead widens, some Republicans tell ANDREW NEIL they now fear Trump's age and increasingly deranged behavior mean he's on track to lose the election... and could even be at risk of a breakdown!

Do we have our election virus?

Quote
The World Health Organization today declared an ultra-deadly strain of monkeypox a global public health emergency.

Officials said that an outbreak of the virus in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and its neighboring countries posed 'international concern' - the WHO's highest level of alert.

The hope is to speed up research and accumulate more funding and public health measures to contain the virus, which is more infectious and several times deadlier than the one that caused the global outbreak in 2022.

No cases of the new strain have been reported in the US or the UK yet, but the American CDC is urging doctors to be extra vigilant for symptoms like skin rashes and lesions.
