ALL the GOP senators should show up on the Senate floor wearing 'LET'S GO BRANDON" shirts - or better yet, hoodies.

Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I actually read it as AOC vs Boebert tug debate. Because a hand job is still a job.  =D

From that twitchy link:

Like many of us, Marjorie Taylor Greene was less than impressed with Chuck Schumer's change to the Senate's dress code. If John Fetterman can't bother to dress with some level of respect for the job he was elected to do how can anyone respect him?

It's going to take a LOT more than nice clothes to get me to respect Senators again.  This and the Boebert pearl clutching are the internet equivalent of the mean girls gossiping at lunch.  All of it means jack *expletive deleted*it in the course of actually governing.

Of more serious concern than him wearing hoodies and shorts

'Because I live in a political environment, I was ridiculed and made fun of because I wasn't able to process things at times,' he said as began to tear up in front of the panel.

He began to tear up as he presented an app that allows him to 'fully participate in this meeting' and communicate with members of his family.

Now he will start wearing a suit if....

But Fetterman's offer comes with conditions. He said House Republicans must pass a government funding bill and support Ukraine in order for him to suit up.

"If those jagoffs in the House stop trying to shut our government down, and fully support Ukraine, then I will save democracy by wearing a suit on the Senate floor next week," Fetterman said Wednesday in a post on X.

The hoodies don't bother me that much.  He can keep wearing them if that's the trade.

Personal note:  We've started furlough preparations at my shop to be ready on 2 Oct.

With his size and in those shorts and shirt, Fetterman looks more like somebody you want to keep at a discrete distance, like 500 yds. away?  ;/

I'm going to my class reunion this coming weekend. I'm going to wear shorts and claim to be channeling my inner Fetterman.

Senate now has a formal dress code. Bipartisan passage as a thumb in the eye to both Fetterman and Chucky Schumer.

Unanimous at that. Kudos to the dem side for making that happen. We were on our way to all of them dressing like the presidential administration in Idiocracy.

I am torn between being annoyed that the Senate is bothering with this crap instead of any of the actual issues in the US and being relieved that the Senate is bothering with this crap instead of passing some bill that will only make things worse.

I come down hard in the relieved camp.

I have no illusions that our legislators would be improving things if they were focused on more important issues.  At least with dress codes they can't really screw anything significant up.
