SO MANY people are saying that the CNN moderators are going to be biased I wonder if maybe - just maybe - they'll actually take a stab at being impartial?. . .

I usually don't quote myself, but to give credit where credit was due, I think the CNN moderators actually behaved like serious journalists.

Trump could have been a little more succinct - I think he rushed to cram too many thoughts into each segment when he had the mic - but still looked good compared to his opponent. (Notice how Trump referred to Joe as "Brandon" once and as a "Manchurian Candidate?"   )

Dems and all their media cheerleaders looked poised to use this as the start of a movement to oust Biden - it's as if their reaction was rehearsed and coordinated. (Newsome? Will Kamala put up with that, and be second fiddle again? Or has she already been paid off to step aside?)

And of course some are saying the moderators should have "fact checked" Trumps alleged "lies."  (They'd accuse him of lying if he announced his last name was Trump.)

And from the performance on stage - I really don't think these two guys like each other very much.
Trump won in 2016. Democrats haven't been so offended since Republicans came along and freed their slaves.

I live for the day in a debate in which the participants actually answer the question being posed. And that the moderators insist on such answers.

Look for Newsom to be called up to the plate soon and be promoted as the "Savior of democracy"

Kamala will do as she is told. Newsome has the stage presence like Obama. The Dem voters, alive and dead, will also do as they are told. He’s doing the same thing Obama did, make a few speeches and look good then bam, he’s the candidate (only Obama had to wait four years from his first national speech). He will say enough crap to get elected by the “fence sitters” and then bend us all over because most people are unaware of what he is doing in California.

I can remember seeing Obama speak in 2004 at the DNC and being impressed by his speaking style thinking that they will be running him in 2008

I said the same thing back then

And then we found out that while he could speak smoothly he required a teleprompter or he completely lost it.

You know you got to wonder. The dems could be playing 3D chess here hoping for a vote bounce if they replace him.

I was thinking the same thing... bearing in mind they are far better strategic thinkers than the Stupid Party's strategic thinkers.  Of course, they have the advantage of not worrying too much about "honor" in their strategies.

It helps when 90% of the MSM will carry whatever message they tell them to.

When you watch someone’s train of thought jump the tracks…

This debate was fun to watch for a few minutes then I started to realize this is a very dangerous time for the world. If Russia or China or Iran or NK wanted to make a bold move, this is the time to do it.
I stopped smiling and laughing and just wanted it to end.

Looking back at it that was still when I could watch the DNC without it making my skin crawl. When the Obama worship kicked in 2008 and they went full retard I couldn't take it anymore and it's gotten way worse since with the arrogant we're better than you attitude going into plaid.

I met him briefly and heard him speak in person twice around that time. He was Illinois senator. I said back then he was a chameleon and a fake but good at it. Scared me then and what I feared became true.

Sept 10th

Biden REFUSES to drop out and even commits to a SECOND debate with Trump in September after trainwreck... as Hillary reacts to his disastrous performance
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13580095/joe-biden-debate-campaign-north-carolina-donald-trump-virginia.html

This could get interesting if Biden is refusing to drop out. I mean what do the dems do in that case, there's always the 25th but are they willing to do that? A "coup" at the DNC or even before would be most interesting and could rip the dem party apart. Stay tuned.

Heart attack or even do I dare say Joe Biden did not kill himself?  [tinfoil]

Okay, Trump needs to stop going back to the previous question to get a last word in. It's starting to affect his initial good performance. Stick to the current question, dude.

This.  Oh my God, this.  Was driving SWMBO and I completely batty.

Well, he made a doozy of a campaign ad for Trump.

Ooof.

Apropos of nothing, it totally baffles me why the DOJ is so hard to keep the recordings of the Hur interview from coming to light.

So I actually watched the clip with the sound muted.   Because I was watching Joe's reaction and mannerisms.   I'm not a doctor. But again, I've worked with a lot of patients with dementia over the years.    He has that classic befuddled "I'm not sure what's going on" look for most of the clip.  Then the "oh, someone is excited, so I'm happy" look.  He doesn't have a single, solitary, f'ing clue what's going on at the moment.  It's almost like a dog that wags its tail because its master is talking in a happy tone of voice.

Bari Weiss (no fan of Trump) wrote an absolutely brutal (but correct) column in The Free Press this morning.  It started off “Rarely are so many lies dispelled in a single moment.  Rarely are so many people exposed as liars and sycophants.  Last night’s debate was a watershed on both counts."

Later in the column: "And even in the midst of last night’s dumpster fire, some stalwarts, like the Japanese soldiers who hadn’t realized they’d already lost the war, tried to spin it.”

I feel very sad for our country and found myself thinking that Xi, if he had any confidence in his military, would have launched the takeover of Taiwan after watching five minutes of the debate.

Relating to the above article where some Hollywood types are complaining about how Trump got away with so many lies in going over what was said if I had watched it and took a drink every time Biden told a flat out lie and/or repeated a falsehood I would still be on the floor in a puddle of puke

Holy crap, I would call Vindman a moron, but I think given his previous position and loyalties (to Ukraine as well as the dems, as well as he and his wife's loyalty to money and fame) that I will instead just call him a traitor.

TDS is one heck of a disease
He could be referring back to 2014 but Trump wasn't president when that occurred either.
