A Cambridge school resource officer is on administrative leave after police say his gun accidentally discharged inside a bathroom stall earlier this month.

Officer Frank Greenidge removed his gun and placed it on a bathroom stall hook by its trigger guard at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School on Tuesday, April 2, Cambridge Police say. The firearm reportedly fired as it was removed from the book

The officer was not hurt and there were no other injuries.

One of the videos I listened to said the rule covered trading for anything of value.

I think they are just trying to force everything through FFL's while they also try to reduce the number of FFL's.  Backdoor "close the gun show loophole".  And one of my Senators helped pass the law that opened the door for this.

And create the comprehensive illegal gun registry loophole.

And create the comprehensive illegal gun registry loophole.

Something the "antis" and the ATF have been trying to do for decades.  They may have already done so but if true, they are violating certain "restrictions".  I would say "laws" but I'm not certain those restrictions actually are "law".  I also have no doubt that someone here can bring greater clarity to this.  =D

NSSF did a paper on the number of firearm magazines produced from 1990-2021: Approximately 960 million total, 718 million of them were over 10 round capacity.  Apparently they are in common use.

Am I missing something or is this just an invitation for people to do more horse trading when selling a gun?

Like MechAg said, the new rule explicitly covers horse-trading.  Honestly someone I didn't know offering something other than cash for a gun (especially at a gun show) would set off more red flags for me.  Either prohibited person/snitch or Fed looking to make a deal that will seem shady to a jury of normies.

Much safer for them to go after people selling their collection that Tyrone with 15 Glocks with switches and fun sticks in the trunk of his Impala.

I am sure they will argue they are all owned by a small number of gun owners.   =)

Yes, I think RevDisk has about half of them.

Just heard the SC granted cert to the 5th Circuit ghost gun case.  My work google account filters a lot of stuff so all I can do is post a link to John Crump's youtube channel.   I am sure it will be a while before the case is heard and a decision is issued.

The USSC taking this up is good. Here in Nevada we have a state law banning unfinished frames/receivers. The law was overturned by a lower court, ruled unconstitutional by the Appeals court and just the other day the law was upheld by the State Supreme Court. So as of now no 80% frame/receivers in Nevada. But that looks like it *could* be subject to change.

From what I heard, it is a little more invasive and confusing than just "universal background checks".  It seemed like there were provisions that nearly make it illegal to ever sell a gun and it wasn't clear if selling through a dealer was okay.  Maybe I misread.

How can fed.gov determine a sale is made "primarily to earn a profit" - making the seller a dealer - unless they know how much was originally paid for the item?

The problem with that is they'll ask my wife, and she'll tell them what I told her I paid for them.  That will show a lot of profit.

If I recall correctly, the BATFE determined you don't actually have to make a profit when selling a gun to be determined to make sales "primarily to earn a profit."

25 years for being an unlicensed gun dealer
But I only sold 1 gun
But you sold it for profit
I actually lost money
But you wanted to make a profit, off to the gulag with 20 more added for questioning us

"Permit-to-purchase" bill signed into law in Delaware

Quote
Under the terms of the new law, anyone who wants to buy a gun will have to provide proof of training within the past five years, including shooting at least 100 rounds at a range. They'll also have to renew that training every five years, while the permit-to-purchase is only valid for two years. There's no cost for the permit itself, but would-be gun owners will have to fork over cash for fingerprinting and for the mandated training.

That's bad enough, but the law also sets up a gun registry, as well as a handy list of gun owners for the state to keep tabs on.

During his signing ceremony, Carney made the intention behind the bill absolutely clear:
Quote
"It's beyond my comprehension somebody could pick up a gun and shoot somebody with it, but it happens — oftentimes for no apparent reason," said Carney, who was flanked by lawmakers who sponsored the bill, gun violence survivors and gun safety advocates. "It's sad, but if you can prevent them from picking up a gun in the first place then we've got a chance."

So basically he's admitting the law is designed to keep guns out of the hands of the common people by making difficult to buy a gun.
See, we're not banning guns, we're making so difficult most people won't.
Meanwhile the criminals don't give a *expletive deleted*it what your silly law says.

BREAKING NEWS: Judge Blocks ATF's NEW RULE!

Guns & Gadgets 2nd Amendment News

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9206PHjBF34

Judge temporarily blocks the ATF's new rule that would restrict the ability to sell guns privately.  It was supposed to go into effect today.  I think it only blocks it for a couple weeks to allow time for review to consider a more permanent injunction.

And this only applies to Texas residents, GOA members, and VCDL members I believe.  The parties of the lawsuit.  Could be others.

Here a bill that bans 50 cal rifles and ammo and more

Quote
The Stop Arming Cartels Act of 2024 proposes banning the manufacture, sale, possession, importation or transfer of .50-caliber rifles by civilians in the United States. The legislation filed by Democratic U.S. Reps. Joaquin Castro and Veronica Escobar of Texas, and Maxwell Frost of Florida would require anyone who possesses one such rifle prior to the bill going into effect to register it in the National Firearms Registration and Transfer Record.

The bill also calls for victims of gun violence to be allowed to sue manufacturers and dealers who violate a federal statute known as the Kingpin Act. It establishes an exemption to the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act that shields gunmakers from most lawsuits.
https://www.wboy.com/border-report-tour/house-democrats-propose-ban-on-50-caliber-rifles/

Other provisions include mandating gun dealers to report multiple sales of rifles to state and local law enforcement.

Is there concrete evidence that cartels are even regularly using .50s anywhere on the North American continent, or were there just a couple of incidents somewhere? Or none at all?

Not that it should have anything to do with gun laws in the US. I'm just wondering how they are coming up with the .50/cartels bogeyman.
